The mining boom in Mongolia swept the country very rapidly. There was diminutive consideration put into the long term consequences. Short term thinking and greed can lead to a quick downfall. A shift in thinking needs to be established. Instead of focusing on the current metrics of wealth and extraction/exploitation, officials, companies, and citizens should consider changing their focus to determine how they could utilize this all resources and values present to country’s advantage…
