Meeting in the Air Quality Department of the Capital City
Ulaanbaatar – 3 November, 2010 –– M–ICP CEO meets with Mr. Seded Chijil Khatagin, Air Quality Department of the Capital City today. The main themes of discussion were cooperation on EZ implementation and exchange of air pollution, heat efficiency related information. Ms. D. Nergui, CEO invited Mr. Seded to join the M–ICP Advisory group/Committee on air pollution and heat efficiency. CEO will invite other Mongolia’s top experts, researchers and engineers working on relevant areas to join this group. Mr. B. Bat–Erdene, Nanotech researcher of NUM/M–ICP Technology expert and Mr. L. Enkhbat, M–ICP also attended this meeting.
Note: In addition to its official administrative structure, the M–ICP will have as originally planned number of Advisory groups/Committees aimed to provide financing policy, business Innovation and technology advices to the government, companies and other relevant institutions through M–ICP management. As air pollution and heat efficiency is one of pressing challenges of Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar city in particular, the advisory group on air pollution and heat efficiency will become M–ICP first Advisory group.
Meetings at the Parliament
Ms. D. Nergui had two meetings today with Parliament members – first with Mr. Ts. Davaasuren, Chairman of Budget Standing Committee of the Parliament and the second is with Mr. D. Zorigt, Parliament member. Main areas of discussion were (¡) importance of revisiting the Investment agreement of Oyu Tolgoi as Mongolia – Mongolian people who supposed to be an owner of its wealth, including underground mineral resources by the Constitution of Mongolia are in extraordinary disadvantaged position which is evident and is unethical and unacceptable and (¡¡) the importance of introduction of Offset mechanism which can help Mongolia to increase its technology competence and capacity and also can help the country to expand its manufacturing and agriculture sector production and export potential through this mechanism, including countertrade.
