M·CAM Joins in Mongolia President's International Roundtable on Fair Mineral Development
June 17, 2010 –– M·CAM Chairman Dr. David E. Martin and Ken Dabkowski participated at a mineral resources roundtable hosted by Mongolian President, the Honorable Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj at his residential resort today. The meeting was organized by the Office of the President and by the World Economic Forum. During the discussion, issues of contract negotiation, sovereign resource disposition and transparency were all subjects of spirited input from members of the public, private and civil society interests. M·CAM's involvement in the roundtable was to advocate for greater awareness on extractive industry corporate practices including subsidiary company asset and liability opacity, greater clarity on the challenges faced by equity ownership by sovereigns when such ownership is financed by debt issues, and the global failure to adequately match stakeholder expectations with capital markets realities.
